Brazilian-born guitarist Jose Neto solidifies his position in the upper echelon of jazz-rock fusion guitarists with his new album, “Other Shore,” a nine-song, mostly instrumental collection of sweet melodies and relaxed grooves that showcase the skill and musicality of his five-piece Netoband.

The title track sets the tone with Neto, a longtime Fairfax resident and highly respected member of the Marin music community, leading the way with the soft sound of his custom nylon-string electric guitar, a sculpted white beauty that has become the source of his signature style.
